SYNOPSIS:
Life in Orissane is a constant struggle. The land is a scarred desert where survival depends on patience, endurance, and luck. Above, two suns vie for dominance over life and death. The White Sun, though blistering and cruel, brings light and sustenance to the dunes. The Black Sun, when it rises, casts shadows across the land, drawing the souls of the dead into the great inverted pyramid that looms at the desert’s heart.
Long ago this land was fertile. But when mortals rebelled against their gods, their victory came at a cost. The heavens were broken, the earth was scorched, and the balance between the suns was left fragile and failing.
The Black Sun grows stronger. The nights stretch longer. The dead wander, restless and hungry. The great sandwurms that once kept to the open wastes now burrow near the cities, and the elemental spirits that guard the oases grow distant and cruel.
Yet life endures. The guilds continue to send caravans across the dunes to trade with the spirits for food and water. You have been hired to protect one such caravan. The journey ahead is quiet, the sun bright. But in Orissane, no light lasts forever.

Phillip Andreev - CoFounder / DM
Hello, my name is Phil. I’m an avid roleplayer, wargamer, and Dungeon Master from Ireland. By day, I’m a saddler, crafting leatherwork and riding horses on parades for the Cavalry. By night, I run games for friends, or as a professional Dungeon Master in central London. Roleplaying games have given me incredible opportunities to forge unforgettable experiences, and make friendships that will last a lifetime.
With Tales at the Threshold, my goal is to share those same experiences with others: to connect like-minded adventurers, help them weave their own stories, and maybe even make lifelong friends along the way.
Jess - DM
Kia ora! I’m Jess, a professional Dungeon Master in London with the better part of a decade's experience under my belt. I have a particular soft spot for Horror and Sci-fi but my first love was sweeping heroic fantasy. From the desert to the high seas - I love it all.
I am happy to weave a story around whatever tone the table calls for and encourage player-centered adventure. I am all about the vibes, the minis, the lightning and the props! My games are focused around inclusivity and fostering community as it is my passion to bring in newer players, especially women+. Nothing brings me more joy than watching self-consciousness give way to creative freedom.
Alex - DM
Alex, here! As a Game Master with over a decade of experience across various systems, I aim to craft compelling, player-led stories. At the table I tend toward Theatre of the Mind style games, using vivid descriptions (and silly pop-culture references) to create a cinematic atmosphere and memorable NPCs to interact with.
In former lives, I've been a writer, designer and editor, so I hope to bring something fresh and never before seen to each of my adventures, including mechanics from other systems that I love. I trust players to explore and overcome obstacles on their own terms, with whatever solutions they can imagine. My games are designed to be challenging, exhilarating, and above all: a laugh! I can also be bribed with Pringles.
